MyDots (the "App") is operated by PreviaWorks (the "Company"). The Company is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the Company collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards your information when you use the App. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Information the Company Collects
Personal Data
The App allows you to create and store personal content including:
- Diary Entries: Text content, titles, mood ratings, dates, and photos
- Todo Items: Task descriptions, completion status, and dates
- Habit Tracking: Habit names and completion dates
- Photos: Images you choose to attach to diary entries (accessed via camera or photo library)
Automatically Collected Information
When you use the App, the Company automatically collects certain information through third-party services:
Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
The Company uses Google Analytics 4 (via Firebase Analytics) to understand how users interact with the App. This includes:
- Screen views and navigation patterns
- App events (e.g., diary creation, todo completion, habit tracking)
- Device information (device type, operating system version)
- App version and usage statistics
- General location data (country/region level, not precise location)
Analytics data may be processed by Google and may include identifiers and other usage information. The Company uses this data to understand usage trends and improve the App.
Google AdMob
The Company uses Google AdMob to display advertisements in the App. AdMob may collect:
- Device identifiers (e.g., Android Advertising ID, iOS Identifier for Advertisers)
- IP address
- Device information (model, operating system)
- General location information (country/region level)
- App usage data
Consent Management (UMP): In compliance with applicable privacy laws (including GDPR and CCPA), the Company uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request your consent for personalized advertising. When you first launch the App, you may see a consent dialog asking whether you agree to personalized ads. You can:
- Accept personalized ads: AdMob may use your data to show you more relevant advertisements
- Decline personalized ads: AdMob will only show non-personalized advertisements
- Manage your consent: You may be able to review or change your choices through the consent dialog in the App (where available) and/or through your device's advertising settings
Important: Where required by law (e.g., in the European Economic Area or California), the Company will present a consent dialog to request and manage your advertising choices. Depending on your choices, ads may be personalized or non-personalized. Your consent choice may be stored locally on your device and can be changed.
Google Drive Backup (Optional)
If you choose to use the Google Drive backup feature:
- The Company accesses your Google account information (email address) for authentication purposes
- The Company stores your backup data in Google Drive's
appDataFolder(a private, app-specific folder that is not visible in your main Drive) - The Company only accesses files created by the App
- You can revoke access at any time through your Google Account settings
How the Company Uses Your Information
The Company uses the collected information for the following purposes:
- To provide and maintain App: Store your diary entries, todos, and habits locally on your device
- To improve App: Analyze usage patterns through Google Analytics to enhance user experience
- To display advertisements: Show ads through Google AdMob to support the free version of App
- To provide backup services: Enable optional cloud backup to Google Drive when you choose to use this feature
Data Storage
Local Storage
All your personal content (diary entries, todos, habits) is stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage. This data remains on your device and is not automatically transmitted to the Company's servers.
Cloud Storage (Optional)
If you enable Google Drive backup, your data is stored in Google Drive's appDataFolder. This
folder is private and not accessible through your regular Google Drive interface.
Data Sharing and Disclosure
The Company does not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. However, the Company shares information with the following third-party services:
Google Analytics 4
- Purpose: App analytics and usage statistics
- Data Shared: Usage data (e.g., screen views, events), device/app information
- Privacy Policy: Google Privacy Policy
Google AdMob
- Purpose: Display advertisements
- Data Shared: Device identifiers, IP address, device information, general location

Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information:
United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia
- Access: You can access your data stored locally in the App
- Deletion: You can delete individual entries or uninstall the App to remove all local data
- Advertising Consent: You can manage your advertising consent preferences through the consent dialog (UMP) shown when you first launch the App, or through your device's advertising settings
- Opt-out: You can disable analytics by adjusting your device settings or uninstalling the App
- Google Drive: You can revoke Google Drive access through your Google Account settings
Note for UK users: Under UK GDPR, you have the right to withdraw your consent for personalized advertising at any time through the App's consent management system or your device settings.
Note for California users: Under CCPA, you have the right to opt-out of the sale of personal information. While App does not sell your personal information, you can control personalized advertising through the consent dialog.
Japan
- Access and Correction: You can access and correct your data stored in the App
- Deletion: You can delete your data at any time
- Withdrawal: You can withdraw consent for data processing by uninstalling the App
South Korea
- Access: You can access your personal data stored in the App
- Correction/Deletion: You can correct or delete your data through the App
- Suspension: You can request suspension of data processing
- Withdrawal: You can withdraw consent for data processing
Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Economic Area). The Company does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided the Company with personal information, please contact the Company immediately.
Data Security
The Company implements appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data:
- Local data is stored securely on your device
- Google Drive backups (if enabled) are stored in a private
appDataFolderassociated with your Google account - The Company uses secure connections (HTTPS) for all data transmission
- Access to Google Drive is limited to app-specific folders only
However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While the Company strives to protect your data, the Company cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data Retention
- Local Data: Your data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App
- Google Drive Backups: Backups remain in your Google Drive until you delete them manually
- Analytics Data: Google Analytics retains data according to Google's settings and policies
- AdMob Data: AdMob retains data according to Google's settings and policies
International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and maintained on computers located outside of your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where data protection laws may differ. By using App, you consent to the transfer of your information to these locations.
Specifically:
- Google Analytics and AdMob data may be processed in the United States and other countries where Google operates
- Google Drive backups are stored according to Google's data storage policies

The Company may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The Company will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.

The App may contain links to third-party websites or services. The Company is not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. The Company encourages you to read their privacy policies.
Permissions
App requests the following permissions:
- Internet: Required for analytics, advertisements, and Google Drive backup
- Camera: Required to take photos for diary entries (optional)
- Photo Library: Required to select photos for diary entries (optional)
You can deny these permissions, but some features may not be available.
